The Treasure Valley loves to celebrate the 4th of July and there is no shortage of fun, family events, many of which are FREE! Here’s a few of my family’s favorite 4th of July activities:

IN MERIDIAN
Meridian’s Independence Day Festival kicks off at 3pm in Storey Park and culminates with a spectacular, professional fireworks show, presented in partnership with the Meridian Speedway, shortly after dusk (approximately 10:15pm).

Families are encouraged to come early to participate in the three-legged races, hoola hoop contests and other games.  Festival attractions include an inflatable obstacle course, slide and bounce houses.  Festival goers are welcome to bring their own picnic into the park or purchase tasty treats from the local food vendors.

This year, Zach Quintana & Friends will perform and Simple Ruckus will close the night playing their high energy top 40 dance music.

Date:   Wednesday, July 4, 2018
Time:   3pm-10:30pm
Where:  Storey Park, 205 E Franklin Rd

The Meridian Speedway partners with the City of Meridian to share a spectacular fireworks display.   Fireworks can be seen throughout the park or up close inside the Speedway at the conclusion of the races.  For a full race schedule and admission prices, visit meridianspeedway.com.

IN BOISE

One of the best places to watch fireworks in Boise is at Ann Morrison Park. Make it an all-day event by floating the river in the morning and taking your raft out at Ann  Morrison Park. Food and beverage sales start at 4pm or you can bring your own picnic.

Note: this is a large family-friendly 4th of July event, so be sure to read the traffic and road closure information on the event website (linked below).

Date: Wednesday, July 4, 2018
Time: 4pm-11pm (fireworks start approximately 10:15pm)
Location: Ann Morrison Park, 1000 S American Blvd., Boise, ID
